Exercise 20: Enlarging a simple flat image

Select three or four objects and make a quick sketch of them.  Then transfer the image square by square as in the previous exercise.

This exercise was marginally easier than the previous one, surprisingly.  Drawing the objects before the grid helped…….

I do think that copying the lines across would have been easier still if I’d used more squares in both the grids, but I chose to simplify the grid process after becoming so confused by it in the previous exercise.  I could imagine this technique might be useful for copying objects from photos or smaller sketches, but only if they were relatively simple shapes.
